Frequently Asked Questions
What Is RIFF?
RIFF is a four day festival for filmmakers and the community to watch films from Georgia and around the world, attend workshops to learn from professionals in the industry, and attend parties for networking and fellowship. RIFF began as the Dahlonega International Film Festival in 2003, before moving to the city of Rome in 2006. RIFF is celebrating its 15th year in operation.
What Access Do I Get With My Pass?
An All-Access Badge will get you in to every event at RIFF, including workshops, screenings, panels, parties, and more. These events will be first-come, first-serve, day of.
Can I Buy Passes On-Site?
Yes, you can by a pass on site, but we encourage you to get your pass asap. As with any major event, knowing our attendance is helpful in planning, as well as insuring that we can accommodate everyone.
Are All Accepted Films Eligible For Awards?
All official selection films are in competition for a Sylvia award. The jury will narrow the films down to the top nominees, which will be revealed at the awards ceremony.
Is There An Age Limit?
While we don’t restrict attendance based on age, our programming focus is on students to professionals. However, we cannot guarantee that the content, including language, subject matter, or images, will not be adult in nature. Parties are 21+, unless stated otherwise. We strongly suggest parents and guardians review the full schedule before purchasing a pass. If there are questions or concerns, we can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is There A Dress Code?
Nope. We want you to be comfortable. November in Georgia can range (on average) from the mid-60’s to mid 70’s during the day and low-40’s to low 50’s at night. Opening Night tends to be a little dressier. For the parties, we want you to have fun. Dress up if you want to! Whatever makes you happy.
Also, remember when packing, rain is always a possibility in Georgia.
